The Start of Something Fun

As of today, Oct 12, 2026 I think I am making good progress on this website.
I started it as something to focus on after my dear step-mom passed away from cancer. I’ve been feeling quite disheartened by everything so I decided to start this project to give me a place I could put information I find helpful and have a place I could send people to quickly reference information. It has been a good distraction. Plus this can be a place I can post about my Pokémon adventures, brag about my pretty decent sized Pidgey collection, and share my current goals.

Although I’m unsure if people even read blogs anymore I feel it too will be a good creative outlet.

Over the next few days I’m hoping to finish up the set symbol guide. I really struggled with a way to make it easy to read on mobile with the words and not have it be giantic. I have a somewhat solution, it isn’t perfect as for longer set names, it cuts them off weird, but I think for just a quick reference it will do ok for what it is. Maybe as I gain more experience I can figure out how to do it better.

After the set guid I want to get set up a guide on basic printing errors, and a quick reference for conditioning cards, something I am trying to get better at myself. Right now I work card shows for my LGS as well as help sort bulk cards that come in. I want to be more helpful, but tend to be really conservative when conditioning. (Saying its MP when its really LP, ect.)

In my current job I feel really stagnant, there is no opportunity for growth, but it pays the bills. So being able to do shows & helping out has really brought some joy back into my life, I want to hone my skills to be able to help them more. I feel game stores are very important 3rd spaces, and my LGS is ran by some amazing people that I want to help succeed.

Anyway I feel I rambled enough for today. Back to doing the setups for the set list…maybe I’ll make a printable poster after I get done making all of these….
